A Different World

One eye could have done the job.

One eye could have done the job just fine,
both eyes are close to each other anyway.

But you notice the shift.
When you close one eye and open the other, one after the other.
What you look at remains the same
But what you see changes.

I close one eye and open the other.
I see suffering, strife.

I’m lost in the imagination of life as it should be.

Separation abounds.

We are all men but colour, shapes and sound have made some more worthy of the title.

I see times when ‘devil’ may just be a human construction, to represent that part of himself which isn’t quite human.

There is a lot of fire — the destructive kind — and a lot to be angry about.

I close the other eye, and open this one.
Everything is as it should be.
Everything exists to give purpose to life.

I see beauty and magic and miracles.

I see perseverance, determination, passion.
I see times when ‘God’ may just be a human construction, to represent that part of himself which isn’t quite human.
There is a lot of fire — the kind that lights up the heart, and the world — and a lot to be peaceful about.

I open both eyes.
I achieve balance.
